Dear Sam Peppers of the World,

You are not allowed to record your sexual harassment of multiple females and broadcast it to your subscription of millions on your social media platforms.

You are not allowed to sexually harass any person.

You are not allowed to make a person feel uncomfortable, violated, embarrassed, upset and angry and then tell them that the way they are feeling as a result of YOUR actions is wrong.

You do not get to decide that something that occurs regularly and makes people feel unsafe and fearful of their life, including during daily mundane activities like walking down a street, is funny or joke-worthy.

You are not allowed to promote the idea that it is okay to go around and treat another human being in this way.

You are not allowed to force random unsuspecting people into situations that should only occur between two consenting adults.

You do not get to imply that it was funny to watch both times I was followed, which made me fear for my life.

You do not get to imply that it was, and is, funny every time I feel unsafe and uncomfortable when someone shouts, beeps, and/or leers at me at least twice a week, which has pretty much occurred every week for the past 9 years.

You are not allowed to imply that it is laugh-worthy that, though we have already lodged complaints with the company, myself and my housemates have to walk fast when we leave our OWN HOUSE to reduce the amount of time we spend passing the letchy, verbally-harassing men who work next door.

You do not get to imply that it was nothing, just a joke, a harmless prank, every time someone I have never met before has touched my hand, my arm, stroked my leg, or grabbed my ass in public, leaving me incredibly uncomfortable and upset and, at times, fearing for my life.

You do not get to imply that it is funny that now, for example at Starbucks, when a stranger behind the counter asks for my name, I panic and accidentally give them a false identity that I felt the need to create in order to protect myself, because I have had to do that so many times already.

You do not get to imply it is funny that I spent a year feeling too unsafe wearing make-up in public while I was on my own because I was being harassed so frequently.

This is something you have done, or are doing. And this is why we need feminists. Your actions are so destructive, you have caused a global collection of people to feel the need to call for action and change.

You have to stop.
